Optional Extensions

Damaraland Extension — Land of Desert Giants & Ancient Stories

Remote wilderness, dramatic geology, ancient cultures, and rare wildlife.

Damaraland is one of Namibia’s most captivating regions — a vast, rugged landscape of red rock valleys, dry riverbeds, and open plains where desert-adapted elephants, rhinos and lions roam freely.

This extension includes a stay at one of Natural Selection’s premier luxury camps, such as:
• Hoanib Valley Camp — a refined tented camp set among mountains and sandy riverbeds
• Safarihoek Lodge — overlooking an expansive Etosha conservancy with abundant wildlife

Guests can enjoy:
• Tracking desert-adapted elephants with expert guides
• Rhino tracking in pristine wilderness
• Visiting the fascinating Himba communities, one of the last semi-nomadic cultures in Africa
• Exploring twisting canyons, colossal granite mountains, and ancient rock engravings at Twyfelfontein
• Unmatched photographic opportunities in a region known for dramatic natural light

Damaraland is one of Africa’s most soulful destinations — raw, powerful, and deeply humbling. This extension is perfect for travellers seeking extraordinary landscapes and wildlife experiences far from the beaten path.

Fish River Canyon Extension — Africa’s Grandest Canyon

A dramatic geological masterpiece, carved over hundreds of millions of years.

Extend your journey south to the legendary Fish River Canyon, the second-largest canyon in the world and one of Namibia’s most awe-inspiring sights. Accessible by private Profile Safaris aircraft, this remote region offers space, silence, and stunning natural beauty on a grand scale.

Highlights include:
• Scenic flights over the canyon’s immense ridges and deep chasms
• Luxury lodge stays with sweeping views of endless desert plains
• Guided excursions to the canyon rim, where the magnitude of the landscape is almost indescribable
• Encounters with desert-dwelling wildlife, rare succulents, and vast, untouched wilderness
• Exceptional stargazing beneath some of the clearest skies in the world
